Commonly used berths
Both the North and South Berths are used by Holland America Line.
On days with multiple ships in port, all guests will enter the
terminal building and follow signage to their respective ship.

Driving and Parking Information
DIRECTIONS:
From Interstate 5 South

  • Take the Front Street exit, stay in the right lane.
  • Turn right onto Ash Street.
  • Turn left onto Harbor Drive.
  • The Pier will be on the right.
From Interstate 5 North
  • Take the 6th Street exit.
  • Turn left onto 6th Street.
  • Turn right onto Ash Street.
  • Turn left onto Harbor Drive.
  • The Pier will be on the right.

Parking Info
Long term parking is available at two nearby lots. The 5 Star parking lot is located across the street (Harbor Drive) from the pier. The entrance to the lot is on Broadway. The SAN PARK lot, located at 3302 Pacific Highway, will shuttle guests to the pier. All SAN PARK vehicles are Lift-Equipped.
Please check directly with parking lot for rates.
At the San Diego Airport special rates are available at
Park N' Fly Parking
Conveniently located at the corner of Kettner Blvd. and Sassafras St. off of I-5, will shuttle guests to the pier.

Guests arriving by personal vehicle MAY NOT park on the pier while on your cruise. You may come onto the pier and will be directed to the drop off area. Porters will be available to take your luggage.

Before You Cruise
WHERE TO STAY BEFORE OR AFTER YOUR CRUISE VACATION:
Holland America Line will gladly make all the arrangements for your
pre-cruise or post-cruise stay in San Diego. Please call 1-877-SAILHAL to add a hotel stay. Guests who book their hotel stays through Holland America Line will enjoy extra special attention such as:
  • An onsite Holland America Line representative will assist you in your stay; just visit them in the lobby.
  • A welcome letter upon check-in letting you know about
    transfer times.
  • Leave transportation arrangements to us.
For Pre-Cruise guests we include transportation from the airport to hotel, from the hotel to the ship.
For Post-Cruise Guests we include transportation from the ship to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT CHECKING-IN:
Get to the Pier
Please arrive no earlier than 10:30AM.
The building will not be open before this time and the driveway is very congested with disembarking guests.

Check Your Luggage
Attach a Holland America Line Bag Tag to all pieces of checked luggage. Follow the signs to the baggage check-in door which opens promptly at 10:30AM, show your baggage, cruise ticket and photo-ID to the security personnel. Your bags will be scanned, loaded onboard, and delivered to your stateroom.

Guests who have completed the Online Check-In requirements are only required to present the following:

  • Proof of Citizenship
  • Signature Preferred Boarding Pass
  • Credit Enrollment Form along with the credit card you wish to use for onboard expenses.
  • Holland America Line Health Questionnaire.

Guests who prefer to check-in at the Terminal will need to bring the following items:

Board Your Ship
In San Diego embarkation starts at about 11:30am. An announcement will be made once the embarkation process is ready to start.

Terminal Features and Services
The Port of San Diego welcomes over 190 cruise ships throughout the year at San Diego's B Street Cruise Ship Terminal. The B Street Cruise Ship Terminal is conveniently located in the very heart of thriving,
vibrant downtown San Diego and is a short distance from
numerous attractions.

Visa Requirements
Voyages leaving San Diego typically go south to Mexico or west to Hawaii. All guests must have proof of citizenship to board the ship. A government issued, certified copy of a birth certificate with photo ID - OR - Passport are the two forms of accepted proof of citizenship required for sailing. Some Non-US citizens require Mexican Visas or Passport Stamps. Please check the Mexican Immigration Website [links to http://www.consulmexny.org/eng/visas_fmt.htm] to find out if you need one prior to coming to San Diego. Those guests who require a visa and do not obtain one will be denied boarding.

ends at 10:30AM.

Government Clearance
All Guests are subject to Department of Homeland Security Screening. Please keep your citizenship documents with you at all times.

Your Baggage
Holland America Line is pleased to offer Signature Express Baggage Service. Once onboard a letter explaining the eligibility requirements will be sent to you. Signature Express Baggage Service offers you the opportunity to receive your airline boarding passes, and check your luggage in to your flight while still onboard your Holland America Line ship. Our airline partners will take your luggage directly from the ship to the airport for loading onto your outbound aircraft. You will then claim your luggage when you arrive at your final destination. This option allows you to enjoy your final hours in San Diego at leisure. Imagine your options: 1) Enjoy a stroll along Harbor Drive or 2) Stand in a never-ending line at the airport - the choice is yours with Signature Express Baggage Service.

Those Guests not participating in the Signature Express Baggage Service should expect the following:
Upon disembarking the ship, all luggage is laid down in the disembarkation hall by color/number order. Once you are invited to exit the ship please come and find your color/number group and claim your bags. There are porters available, but individual carts are not available. Please exit the building with all family members and luggage, once you leave you cannot re-enter.

The Porters are salaried employees and tipping is not required.

Your Transportation:
Immediately outside the doors of the disembarkation hall you can find Holland America Line motorcoach transfers, taxis, and limos.

Transportation Options
In San Diego, guests usually choose to take Holland America Line arranged transportation, which offers transfers between the San Diego Airport, Select Hotels and Ship's Terminal via motorcoach.

If you would like to book a transfer please call 1-877-SAILHAL and tell them you would like to add a transfer.
Depending on your air arrival time and date special instructions have been included in your ticket book advising where to find your Holland America Line Guest Service Representative at the airport.
